Beautiful situated at the Veluwemeer, Elburg as a Hanseatic qualifies as Holland’s most
historical city. In the old Centrum it looks like time has stopped and Elburg still seems
the old fishing town situated at the Zuiderzee.
The square midd-century streets are still present and everywhere you can see beautiful
canals and parts of the town-wall. Within the walls there are 250 monuments.
Outside the walls, near the ‘Vischpoort’, there is a little harbour with an original fish auction.
One of the most authentic buildings is the 15th century Saint Agnes where nowadays the
city hall is located.
